Lame, lame,lame...

So there goes me job... It's not "for sure" yet, but my boss said she really doesn't think my position will stay after our HUGE budget cut. :(

Other services of ours that are being cut as of July 1, 2008:

-ALL cessation classes (including my work with the teenagers!!)
-ALL prevention past 8th grade (meaning we will no longer do classes in high schools)
-ALL community events (like health fairs)

... SuckY!!! :( Silly mis-managing of $$. I deem this whole thing lame. (By "lame," of course, I mean ridiculous, unfounded, and stupid.)

Grrr...

So now I'm hunting for jobs. The Department of Defense has a sweet education program that I'm thinking about... You'd teach abroad on a U.S. military base... As a matter of fact, I'm gonna start applying for that now... Peace!

HI, my love! I'm sorry there is a possibility you may lose your job come July 1 due to funding.

As a backup Plan B, some possible job suggestions include:

1. Working for a school district that will pay you what you're worth while waiting to hear from the Department of Defense.

2. Working for a charitable organization such as The American Red Cross, The American Cancer Society, Lifebanc, etc.

3. Working as an event planner for a company or hotel (free rooms for your sister and parents?).

4. Working for the State of Arizona in some capacity (check their website).

5. Working for the county in a different department -- since you're already a county employee, this may be your easiest option. Their department of human resources may be able to help you there.

6. Working for the community college in another capacity.

7. Working for NAU in some capacity. Check with their job placement department since you're a grad. OSU may be able to help you, too.

8. Working as a paralegal for a law firm -- with your new volunteer position as a child advocate, this would be a natural tie-in.

9. Working for an airline (free air travel) or at the airport.

10. Working for a hospital in some capacity.

11. Working as a tutor for a school district.

We will help you however we can from across the country. You can always spend some time here, too, while you sort your options. Maybe you can go month-to-month after your lease expires to give you more time.

Love you,

Momita & Daddio
